A lot of people wait for the right moment to start something. They feel that they are not ready. They postpone and postpone. Do you know what happens then? Nothing. So instead of starting something, they do nothing. They have a fear of change, fear of not being successful and fear of not delivering the correct results for their “correct” society. What follows many times is frustration, insecurity and loss of motivation.
I believe that everyone has his own pace and we should never force or risk anything against our natural instincts. But there are certain moments in our lives when we have the ability to change or switch our direction. And when these moments arrive, it’s just upon us to take a leap of faith. Some things will never be guaranteed and it’s just on us – you – if you believe that it will go in the right direction.
I receive lot of questions from my family, friends or readers of my blog: “Where do you find the courage to do the things you do?” I don’t consider myself as the most courageous person, but yes, I like to follow my own way and explore the world and my own possibilities. Sometimes it’s hard and sometimes I feel sad, lonely or cheated (this year I had exceptionally bad luck with men). But that’s life, everything happens for a reason. Life is unpredictable, nothing is perfect and I can’t expect to live in a fairy tale. Although, spending most of 2014 on the beach, meeting many influential and inspiring people, starting my own business and improving my surf sounds like a fairly tale. I have (almost) no idea, how 2015 will go, but I believe that through hard work and taking risks I can continue living my “dream” reality.
Finally, I would like to share some thoughts with you that inspired me before. I have two people who helped me a lot and I would like to thank them this way. These two comments came at the right time in my life. I was open to listen and imagined the outcome of my answers, so it moved me forward.
Me: “I’m not sure what will happen next.” (When I wanted to quit my job.)
My mom: “If you don’t try, you don’t know.”
Me: “I’m scared to have my own business.”
My dear friend, Ida: “What is the worst thing that can happen?”
Especially the second question is absolutely to the point. What is really the worst thing that can happen in life?
I want to wish you a great start of 2015 taking another leap of faith into your own direction.
Peace, love and happiness.
Silvia
